More About Being a Member of Rotary

Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It is a non-secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are more than 34,000 clubs in 160 countries and over 1.2 million members worldwide.

Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives. A Rotary club contains a diverse group of professional leaders from the community that the club serves.

Membership in a Rotary club requires (1) that a club have your business or professional classification available as well as (2) an invitation and sponsorship by a member of the club.

Membership in a Rotary club offers a number of benefits, including:

  • effecting change within the community
  • developing leadership skills
  • gaining an understanding of – and having an impact on – international humanitarian issues
